Learn to dance Son Cubano with us! This beautiful traditional dance was created in Cuba long before salsa and created the roots for salsa nowadays! Contrary to salsa, son is danced contratiempo -meaning that it’s not danced on 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 but instead on 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8. The son is romantic and elegant and gives space to breathe and relax. Traditionally the son Cubano doesn’t involve many steps and figures, but nowadays it’s often mixed with more modern moves from salsa and Timba too.

Son can be effortlessly mixed cha cha cha, as this dance style has the same rhythmical structure. In this course you'll the authentic son, but also how to mix it with other styles such as cha cha cha, tango Cubano, Changuï, Rumba and more and how naturally switch between the contratiempo and tiempo.
